If you are cancelling your registration on a car you no longer own. You can fill out an application for voluntary registration cancellation form and either mail or drop it off at our drop box just outside the entrance door.

You can also go to https://eservices.drives.ga.gov to cancel your registration.

Payment Options

The Tax Commissioner's Office accepts the following payments:

  • Visa, MasterCard, American Express, cash, checks and money orders at the window*
  • Visa, MasterCard, American Express, checks and money orders by mail*
  • Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express online*

*All card transactions are subject to additional non-refundable processing and/or convenience fees. The Credit Card fee is 2.35% with a minimum of 1.00 and a fee of $1.00 for each eCheck. 

Make checks payable to the Rockdale County Tax Commissioner. The office does not accept counter checks, third-party checks, payroll checks, or out-of-state/out-of-county checks, and reserves the right to refuse any check. Name and current Rockdale County address must be pre-printed on the check and match the registration. Include your phone number, birthdate, and GA driver’s number.

Warning: The maker of a dishonored/returned/bad check will be subject to criminal prosecution and penalties. A minimum fee of $35 or 6% will be charged for returned checks. This office prosecutes to the fullest extent of the law. A returned check over $1,500 constitutes a felony.
