Your taxes will be calculated using your Base Year Value plus 2.7% or your current year value, whichever is lower. Your 2026 Base Year Value is the value of your property the first year you qualified for the HB581 exemption. If you had a homestead exemption in 2024 and still own and occupy the property as your primary residence, your Base Year Value is your 2024 value. If you first received the homestead exemption in 2025, your Base Year Value is your 2025 value.
